Wagner’s The Tale of Lohengrin (1913) – Book Pictures and History

This was one of the most amazing and memorable Christmas presents I’ve ever been given, it was originally my great grandmother’s and had been passed down to my grandmother and grandfather before my mum discovered it and (knowing I love books) gave it to me for Christmas this year. It had been sitting on a shelf for just over 100 years! A truly amazing (and lucky) present.

Here’s some info I could info about this beautiful book:

G. G. HARRAP & CO., London, 1913 (thought to be). Decorative brown cloth, gilt titles. A beautiful copy, unpaginated. Illustrated by WILLY POGANY including colour lithographs and black and white illustrations in the text. Pogany’s best known works consist of illustrations of classic myths and legends done in the Art Nouveau style. He also worked as an art director on several Hollywood films. T. W. Rolleston, Willy Pogany:
